October has arrived - the last month before the launch of the next generation of consoles - and it's kind of the calm before the storm. There are notable releases, but they are not enough, and most of the calendar is again occupied by games from not the most famous studios and publishers.
The beginning of the month
Opening mid-autumn, a small project called Code of Princess EX is a colorful and very Japanese mix of bitmap and RPG. The creators show off a co-op for two, 50 playable heroes, and character designs from Darkstalkers artist Kinu Nishimura.
Crash Bandicoot 4 is coming to consoles on October 2, the first truly new game in the franchise in years. Responsible for it is the same team that ported remakes of the original trilogy to Switch - let's see how the developers cope with creating their own game about a funny bandicoot. During the summer demonstration, the fourth part pissed us off no less than its predecessors from the 90s.

On October 5th, Foregone, a 2D action platformer, will be released on all platforms except Steam . The trailer looks nice, but how the game differs from all other "metroidvania" is not yet clear.
A retro RPG called Ikenfell will appear on October 8th . Among other things, the creators were inspired by Steven Universe , and therefore not only battles with monsters, but also the feelings of the heroes will play an important role.

FIFA 21 will be released a day later . Unlike Konami , the electronics are not yet ready to simply roll out an annual update on their football simulator. Therefore, buyers will again have to pretend that they are purchasing a whole new game for the full price, and not a set of additional features for the old one .
Then The Survivalists will be released - a new project from the creators of The Escapists . As you might guess from the name, now you have not to run away from your place of stay, but, on the contrary, to settle down. And at the same time, explore the surrounding area for food and useful resources - in a word, the pixel version of Don't Starve .
Also on October 9, Ben 10: Power Trip will go on sale - another action game based on the hit cartoon series Cartoon Network . Keep in mind that the basis is not taken "Ben" of your childhood or adolescence, but its restart of the mid-2010s.

And on the 14th, Vigil: The Longest Night , a metroidvania set in the world of dark medieval fantasy, will go on sale . At least the project looks curious, and the design of the monsters resembles the cult "Berserker" .

The theme of the ancient gods will be continued by the first part of the expansion for Doom Eternal . The executioner will be offered to go to another world and there crumble into cabbage both already familiar and new enemies.
Also on October 20, the HyperBrawl Tournament will be released on all platforms - a clear attempt to make another hit for Twitch. In fact, this is an arcade handball simulator, but with all kinds of whistles, explosives and additional obstacles in the arena.
Transformers: Battlegrounds will be released on October 23rd . This time the Autobots and the Decepticons will sort things out in an unusual turn-based tactics format - however, it all looks like a mobile phone is not the first freshness.

On October 27, the Darklands will open their gates in the Shadowlands expansion for World of Warcraft .
